I think Larry Nassar is a horrible, shameful individual in terms of the abuse of his power and a legacy of brutality and abuse. I think this has extremely traumatic effects on the victims in this case. There was an interview that one of the girls had, she mentioned that the abuse started when she was about 10 years old and lasted for a number of years. One of the consequences from this was that she kept telling her dad about it, and her dad didn’t believe her. Consequently, her dad committed suicide. Its just horribly traumatic and sad. Looking at it from my own perspective as a dad, its crazy. You cant live in fear, but you have to pay attention, you have to be cautious, and you have to be aware. In terms of psychology, its personal responsibility, and if you’re a parent, its being cautious and aware. If you’re an older sister or brother, again, you need to be aware, and hold people accountable. -Mr. DePaulo (psychology teacher)
