Track’s Last Home Meet

Senior Track and Field Athletes talk about the end of the Season.

On April 18, We hosted our last home Track meet against SLO and Mission Prep. It was a emotional night for the seniors as they performed their final meet as a Track athlete for PV. We would like to thank all of the Senior Track and Field Athletes for putting their time and effort through out these past 3 months of Track. Especially, for the 4 year Track athletes. For that, we thank you !

“I think I did well on my events, but not my best. It’s toward the end of the season, so not much time to improve, but I’m happy to have tried a new event.  What I’m going to miss most about track are the practices I had with my friends and my new friends that I made in the different events. The new friendships and the closer bond with my friends has blossomed and I’m happy about that.” -Andrea Meza (12)
“This is my last home meet ever. I feel like I could’ve done way better, but the weather conditions weren’t the best. It was really windy and I didn’t PR. I took a L, and honestly I could’ve done better but the weather was bad. What I’m going to miss about is definitely the people. Main reason why I’ve been in it for all 4 years is because all of my friends are here and they’re what makes Track fun.” -Andrea Pasillas (12)
“Today have been neither good or bad, Like my allergies been acting up. But, through it all I persevered and I think I was a okay. Like my 800m could’ve been better, our 4x100m came together, and finally we ran a good time, and my 4x400m I think I might of PR and ran a 51 compared to a 52. What I’m going to miss about Track is I can care less about competing all though it’s fun, but like I’m mostly going to miss all of my teammates. Like, If it wasn’t for my teammates, I probably would’ve done it for all of my 4 years.” -Letarian Brandon (12)
“I did alright. I hit the 136 mark. I was really close to the school record here. But, I still have time. I’m still going to try to break the school record for Discuss. So, for the last home meet I did okay. I’m going to miss all of the friends, I’m going to miss all of the coaches that coached me through out the years, and I’m going to miss all of the memories that I had with everyone, all of the throwers. I’m really going to miss throwing the sport the most.” -Juan Guzman (12)
“As of my events, I did pretty okay. I wanted to do better, but I think I did pretty good. The thing I’m going to miss about Track is being able to get to know new people every year. Because there is so many people coming every year. I’m going to miss that a lot. And just being able to connect with teammates that have the same interest as I do. And loving to come to practice, even though I hate it. it’s nice to hang out with people that like the same things as I do.” -Kearessa Gauna (12)
“I feel like I did pretty good. Even though I tripped over a hurdle and everything. I’m still proud of myself. I give it all I had, and towards the ends the race I tripped over a hurdle. But I got back up and ran through it. And ya know some people might of stayed down, some people might of complained about it, or complained about something hurting but I went through it and I went through it and kept going through out the race. But, yes I felt pretty good about the race”. -Frank Maciel (12)
“I think I did good, I gave it my all, Especially, that 200m. I think I did pretty well. And for County on Saturday, I’m actually not going this year. I’m not going to be able to attend County because the Varsity qualifying time is higher than I expected. For the rest of the season, I’m looking forward to bettering my times, and how I run, and especially when it comes to college, I’ll be able to run there as well; like I said, if I better my times.”-Johnathon Trejo (12)
