Varsity baseball senior night was Friday the 11th. For many of the players, it was their last home game at Pioneer Valley. Many will continue on to play in college, and for some it will be their last year.
“I really enjoyed my last year of baseball, especially since it was my last year playing for Pioneer Valley. I’m thinking about continuing to play in college, but I’m not really sure yet. I really want to focus on school and education. I really liked the four years I played here at PV, I had a lot of fun playing. I think my best years were my freshman and junior year. This year was alright, but I think we’ve had better years.” -Isaac Ortega
“Playing my last year was kind of sad, but we all have to grow up and we all have to give up what we love. I’ve been playing with these guys since I was little, and I love them to death. I wouldn’t want to play with anyone else. I’m going to try to play at Hancock, and maybe continue after that. We’ll see what the future holds. I played all four years, and I think my favorite year was my sophomore year. I was a little younger and a little more sturdy. It was a grind.” -Esteban Curiel
“My last year was fun, I had good teammates. I’m not planning on playing after high school, I want to focus on education. I played all four years, and this was my favorite year.” -Ruben Ortiz
