Prom Tips and Tricks

Prom is literally just around the corner and it’s a night to remember. With all the stress that will be going on that day here are some tips so you can slay at prom!1. Keep oil blotting papers handy: Go to your local pharmacy and pick up blotting papers. It helps with the oils on your face

and sometimes it’s better than just applying face powder all over your face.

2. Bring a purse: blotting papers, lip-gloss/ lipsticks, perfume, gum, portable charger, face powder, compact mirror.

3. Selfie Check: Try to avoid using face powders that contains silica. This is why when the light is hits the parts where

you have applied your powder, it gives you flash back.

4. Apply deodorant to the sides of your feet: This will help prevent blisters from dancing in your heels all night.

5. Pick Your Eyes or Your Mouth: The biggest mistake people make when putting on makeup is that they

highlight both the eye and the mouth. Go bold on the lips and simple on the eyes or vise versa.

6. Hold off on the shine coat: In photos, glossy lipstick can reflect light and create the appearance of a weird white

dot on your mouth. Stick with a matte lip color and then layer something shiny on top later in the night if you want.

7. Smell good all night: Apply Vaseline on areas you normally apply perfume on. This will make your

perfume stay on longer.

8. Step up your glow: If your dress is off the shoulders or strapless, consider applying lotion with a

shimmering tint, then dust shoulders and collarbones with highlight.

9. Fix a prom-night pimple fast: If you wake up on prom day with an unwelcome visitor on your face,

stash a Q-tip soaked in eye drops in the freezer for an hour. Then rub it on your pimple. The combo of the cold and the eye

drops constricts blood vessels to immediately reduce redness and soothe irritation.

10. Turn to the right in photos: Make sure the left side of your face is being exposed on your photos because

according to researches it looks more flattering in pictures.

“Yes it helped very much and I’ve heard some of the tricks before. But I’ve never heard of putting deodorant in my feet to prevent blister. That’s a pretty good tip for me because I’m going to have to wear tall heels all night. I don’t have any tips or tricks to share and I’m ready to slay along with all my friends!” Katie Hernandez 12th

“The tips on here are good and helpful. I recommend wearing setting spray so your makeup doesn’t get all runny and sweaty inside. That would suck for pictures.” Ruby Orgaz 12th
