PVHS Track and Field Athletes Host First Home Meet of the Season

Track and Field hosted their first meet against Atascadero and AG. All competitors put up a good fight against both schools! Our next home meet will be on April 18th, which is considered our Senior Night. Here’s what some of our athletes had to say about how they performed in their events:

“In the 4×100, I felt like we did good. The only thing is that during is the exchange of the hand off with Letarian was a little off at the end, we bounced back.  We were able to pull 1st and I’m pretty glad about that.” Edwin Romero (11)
“Today, I think that my performance was okay. I PRed in my pole vault performance. And I also PRed in my 200m. I also feel pretty good about that. The 4×100 and the 100m, I’m still working on it. But overall, it was a good meet. And we just started season, so it’ll get better from here.” -Lauren Carandang (10)
“Well honestly, we all did pretty good tonight. We tried our best. We were going against the best, pretty hard schools. And it was just difficult, trying to keep up with them. But we did everything we could. And our results will show how we actually did.” -Miguel Santos (9)
“I did pretty bad today. I was off my game, I need to focus more, but overall it was pretty good. I threw a 33 for shotput. And around 85 for discuss, it’s okay but it’ll be better.” -Willi Pina (12)
“My performance tonight was good! I placed 1st in throwing discus, placed 4th for throwing shotput, but overall I’m happy because I PR today and that was on the discus and I was in 1st place. My mark for discus was 132 and that was my PR and my last PR was a 128.” Juan Guzman (12)
