It was a very exciting evening at the Arlington Theater this past Saturday Night for the Teen Star Finale.  Finalist Daniel Geiger walked the red carpet for the third time with confidence and poise.  Mentored by Kenny Loggins in the weeks leading up to the event, it was Daniel who walked away with the first place prize!

The evening began with a group musical number followed by individual performances.  Daniel’s first song choice was a number by Sam Smith title “HIM,” a brave song that battles prejudice and negativity.  His final number, “This Is Me,” was from the recent musical, “The Greatest Showman.”  He was backed up by Kenny Loggins’ bandmates on percussion, piano and guitar.  Daniel received standing ovations for both performances.

“I’ve never been more nervous before a performance,” Daniel said with his award.  “I wasn’t sure what the reaction would be.  I want to thank everyone for being so loving and amazing.  Thank you.”  As the winner of the competition, Daniel will receive a $1,000 scholarship from the Santa Barbara Bowl Foundation, a recording session and will appear on various radio and television events during the year.
