Eyebrows through Decades

Eyebrows are what frame someone’s face. Over the years there has been a variety of different shapes and sizes of eyebrows. From pencil thin brows to thick bushy brows we bring you eyebrows through history.

The 1920’s is an era is known for Flappers. Flappers are women who dressed more like men by cutting their hair short and wearing pants.During this period of time eyebrows were introduced to eyebrow pencils and were drawn on thinner and far apart.
During the 1930’s eyebrows were drawn on thicker but still far apart.
During the 1960’s Audrey Hepburn became very popular. Eyebrows were drawn with a softer arch and were becoming more natural.
During the 1970’s eyebrows were left more natural. Women chose between thin or thicker eyebrows.
Eyebrows were still left in the more natural side during the 1980’s. Women would groom their eyebrows by getting them waxed or threaded.
Eyebrows were waxed to make them thinner during the 1990’s. Women would draw on their eyebrows lightly and more far apart.
In this time period eyebrows are left thicker to show a bolder brow. People can go from a more natural brow to a more on fleek brow.
