The Pioneer Valley High School Girls volleyball team had a very great season, with every team member putting their greatest effort into their games against other schools and being positive! The PVHS Frosh Volley team’s most valuable player was Andrea Flores Rivera who strived to do her best. Their rising star was Lizette Cortes who showed potential for future seasons. A victory of theirs that was worth celebrating was against Morro Bay which was their last game but played with their entire hearts. A difficult moment for them was losing against SMHS but played with positivity and worked as a team. The PVHS most valuable athlete in JV Varsity was Mariah Cital, striking and making sure her team would have the win. The JV Varsity’s most improved team member was Cayden Ecols, who put effort in trying to become better. The PVHS JV Varsity’s rising star was Sarai Salazar, who shot up like a panther and did her best. The PVHS JV Varsity’s celebrated their big win at Santa Maria High School!! The PVHS Varsity team’s most valuable player was Mackenzie Ramirez (12) who stayed positive and did the best for the team. The team’s most improved athlete was Jackie Paulino (11) who strived to do her best and make her team better. The PVHS Varsity’s rising stars were Carmen Serna (9) and Ella Naoe (10) who could prove dynamic in future seasons! A win that was worth celebrating was where the athletes played Orcutt Academy at Orcutt new gym and won them in four sets. “We were down 16-24 and Mackenzie Ramirez ACED Orcutt all the way to 26-24 with setting Kahlia Melton on the 25 points to kill the ball to make It a win for PVHS.” This shows the Panthers played well and made sure the Spartans wouldn’t get another set. A moment of defeat that was difficult for the panther athletes was against Lompoc. “It would be games against Lompoc where we could have won It all but I believe there just on and off games and this was an off game, but we bounced right back and beat Santa Maria and OAHS.”
