Panthers Pummel the Warriors

On Friday night our furious panthers played against the warriors. It was a great night for our team and for the rest of us! PV remained up for the whole game! Righetti stayed behind only by a few points throughout the game. It was quite exiting and nerve wrecking. The numbers were so close that the warriors could surpass us at any minute! Last year the dark side raised the roof when we went wild during the game! We were so close to win but this year the tables were turned! We took the victory 73-66. Some of our players explained they were so happy to win after last years close game. So come on and show your support by coming to watch their up coming game this Friday at 7 o’clock. Show your Panther Pride!!!!!!!!

“I feel pretty good beating Righetti because we really needed this win and I feel like it’s going to give us momentum going into the second half of the league. The team isn’t performing bad at all we’ve just had some bad games but good games that we couldn’t finish. Our weaknesses is ourselves and our strength is playing with and for each other. I feel like we can be a very great team if we play together. And CIF isn’t on my mind right now I’m just focused on what we have to do to win” -Salvador Villa
“I feel like the win against Righetti made our team closer because we have been struggling to pull out wins! I think our team’s performance is very good but we just get a little outworked. Our team’s weakness is probably remaining focused through the whole basketball game! And our strengths are probably getting the ball to the post players because that’s where we’re dominant! I think we still have a chance if we remain to play at our full potential” -Jayden Jones
“It felt good, I know our team still had that bad taste in our mouth from last year. I knew we could win this, if we all played our role. Our team has its spurts of being a good basketball team. We just have to stay consistent the way we play every game. Our strengths are getting to line converting our free throws. And our weaknesses are shooting the 3 and being consistent as a team. I believe that our team is a CIF team 100% we have to play our style of basketball every possession” -Taylor Burns
“The bottom line is: in our league we like to win any game and it’s basically a little extra when your beating someone from your own school district. We need to play better and it’s fun to win any games right now at this point. I think its kinda been a struggle for us, we’ve been playing a little up and down. Hopefully we are playing our best basketball right now, we have to win 3 games of our last 7 to make the play offs which is our goal. Hopefully we will find a way to get that done. Our strength is our size and our physicality. And our weakness is our ability to handle and pass the ball. Yes, I do believe we can make it to CIF. It’s not going to be easy, but it will be great to have some students come out here and help. I think it’s going to be very close” -Coach Lanthier
“The win felt really good, it always feels nice to beat an in-town rival. League hasn’t been going as good as we thought we’d be this far into it, but we’ve regrouped after this win. I believe if we string a couple wins together we have a shot at a top 4 spot. I think one weakness we have is we can get kind of streaky. A part of our game is good and another part of our game suffers. But we’ve been able to kind of play the whole game a lot better like we did tonight against Righetti. One thing I notice with this team is how close we are and all have each other’s backs. I think that translates to the courts. To make the playoffs we have to win 3 of the last 7 games. But to only win 3 games out of those would be somewhat disappointing to this team cause we know we have a shot at coming on top in the PAC 8. But yes this team has a very strong chance of making CIF” -David Martinez
