That’s How It Goes
That’s How It Goes
Blindsided by your own pride you let that woman slide by
Mentally and spiritually intimate but in physicality you kept your distance
Gave her a call and recited better poets than yourself
But something always cuffed you to the shelf
You can blame it on your insecurities and mental health
Heaven knows you needed every angel to help
Fell into heavy emotions and crept around that little word
Always talked about how you’d never fall to the woman who had it all
Said she was moving on and met another
Now all of a sudden when she’s gone you love her
