There are different laws in different countries. Today, we’re going to talk about laws in USA and around the world.

In Taiwan (where I am from), we are allowed to drink alcohol at 18. Meanwhile, people are not allowed to have it until 21 years old here in USA. What do you think about it? Is this too late for having alcohol? Or is it too early? Which age is the best age in your opinion? I’ve asked some people about this.  Everyone has their own opinion. The number of people who think 21 is the best age to drink alcohol are more than people who think it should be earlier. Actually, there are lots of people around the world that are allowed to drink alcohol under 21 yeas old. For example: people in Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and so on, can drink alcohol when they are only 16, besides, people in China, France, Spain and Taiwan are allowed alcohol when they are 18.

Americans are allowed to drive when they are 16 years old. What do you think about this? Lots of people think 16 is a nice age to drive, but there are some people that think 18 is also a good age , and few people that think it should be 15. Actually, the age that people are allowed to drive is different in every country. In New Zealand, people are allowed to drive when they are 15. In addition, in Italy, Chile, France, Japan, Taiwan and so on, people are eligible to get a driver’s license after their 18th birthday. But, the French people can drive with their parents when they’re  15.

People in USA are eligible to vote when they are 18 and plenty of people think it is the best age. Some people think it should be older than 18. There are 162 countries that allow people to vote when they are 18. But in some countries, people can’t vote until they are 20, like Korea  and Taiwan.

Weed is usually illegal in lots of countries. People are allowed to smoke weed in USA , Canada and some other countries. Americans can have weed when they are 21. Many people think weed should be illegal in USA, however some people think that Americans should be able to have weed when they are only 18.
