Fashion Class Joins Retirement Celebration

Mrs. Diaz’ students had the opportunity to unveil their recent creations in front of their parents, District staff and classmates. The Panther Stitchers both displayed and modeled their clothing creations in a beautiful display that detailed the inspiration for each piece and told about the creator.  Featured students included Tahsina Ahmed Ritu, Diadira Andrade-Barragan, Merlin Cortes Funes, Byaney Espinoza Guzman, Gabryela Guerrero Vega, Allan Holguin, Anahi Luquin Jimenez, Stephany Mendoza, Maria Perez Gonzalez and Alexia Rodriguez. Also in attendance for the event was Supertendent Dr. Mark Richardson who will retire this June after six years of service to our District. Mr. Diaz’s class joined the celebration as well as Mr. Karamitsos’ class.

“The fashion class has made such an impact on my life. I have done things I never knew I was capable of and I can’t thank Mrs. Diaz enough for her help. I’m super proud of how my design came out and I know I’m going to wear it and show it off in many special occasions.” – Lexi Rodriguez
” I loved being able to be part of this class. I love fashion. I came into the class not knowing anything and I ended up being able to create a skirt.” -Gabryela Guerrero

“I loved being able to be part of this experience because I love fashion. Ever since I was little I’ve learned a lot about fashion. Constructing a garment is not my fav but styling Is. I feel like I’m able to express myself through my garments.” -Allan Holguin
