AP Testing: How to Prepare, What to Expect

As the wise Justin Timberlake once said, “It’s gonna be May,” leading up to the countdown of days to AP testing season. Throughout the country, many AP students take their time to study (or cram) for their tests in order to get a 5 in whatever test(s) they may take. It’s important to make sure you’re fully prepared for whatever the test may contain. make sure to get a good night’s sleep and a hearty breakfast. To all the AP test takers, good luck!!

Carlos Contreras: The best way to prepare for the AP test is to commit to vast amounts of independent studying, making sure that a concept is understood clearly and easily as possible (11th)
Evelyn Pacheco: People should prepare by obviously studying. But not over doing they should take simple note taking skills and review in that way. Also be mentally and emotionally ready for the hard work they have to put in. Get rest and not over think it. They should just study and take notes to review and go in with the mentality that they are going to do great (11th)
Ashley Santiago (left): It’s mainly how someone is able to manage the time they have where they either study from the beginning or try to cram it all in at the end. Study the material given by teachers before you rely on the internet like quizlet and YouTube. Reviewing the material by analyzing and not just rereading information. Take time to actually comprehend. I also think it’s best to take the practice quizzes provided by the college board once you’re confident with your knowledge on the topic and get the feel of the style of testing that you’ll encounter in the actual quiz. (11th) Krystal Cainglit (right): I think one of the biggest tip for anyone taking the AP test is to do the practice AP test that each test has. Another tip is to take some of your own time at home to study any specific topic of a subject that you know you struggle at. (11th)
Jed Jimenez: Make sure that you’re able to handle the test and that you have enough time to study and take on responsibilities. Also pay attention to your AP  classes, try to learn the material, especially the days towards the AP test. However it’s still better to learn throughout the year, so you’re able to retain all that information in your brain. And more importantly, just relax a bit because if you freak out it’s not going to help you, and realize that if it doesn’t go well, just do your best. (11th)
