Anatomy of a Horror Movie

Everyone has their own beliefs on what makes a horror movie so spooky and scary for the youngsters… Whether you think the way an antagonist was dressed in a film sets the tension, or the creepy visuals displays the mood better. Each individual person has their own perspective or point of view when deciding what makes a film disturbing to a viewer or audience when watching a scary movie. I was intrigued on writing this article because my dad and I are huge fans of epic horror movies. For example, my favorite horror movie is “Children of the Corn” because I believe it is both hilariously corny and disturbing, overall it’s an absolute classic. I would believe that what makes “Children of the Corn” so spooky is the cinematography and imagery, as it makes amazingly unsettling throughout the movie. Maybe while reading through this article it makes you ponder what scary movies make you scream and why that is. What do you think makes a movie horrific?
