Now that’s a Great Idea!

Have you ever tried to throw away a salad box but it couldn’t fit in the PVHS trash can hole? Well there’s a solution for you! Our janitor has decided to put an end to the struggle of having to throw away a salad box, and has cut a rectangle to fit the box and to lessen everyone’s everyday struggle.

Aislinn Mase (11th): I think this is a good idea and that it really does help so it’s not a hassle to throw away your salad box, its just more convenient. Maybe [the school] can put more trash cans out, because I notice when I’m walking to sixth period that there’s only about two trash cans by the basketball courts, and I know that there’s a lot of trash around that area.

Mr. Dearborn: I think it’s great that he cares about his job, and that he finds a creative way to make the campus better. It just shows that from the principal, to the teachers, to the maintenance staff, everybody wants to make this a good place and contribute their ideas. [Pepe] is using his physical skills and his mind to invent a new way to make the garbage can better.”

Pepe (janitor): It’s surprising how the little things [like this] can go a long way, and I’m happy that it has turned out great. I think its juts a matter of being conscious [about the trash]. I noticed that there’s a lot of trash cans that are empty, and most of the trash is on the ground, and the thing is, they do it at home too.

Carissa Minera (11th): I feel like it’s a good idea and that it will make it easier for people who are walking by, and they can just throw it in. I think that people should just throw their trash out, and just not leave it on the ground.

Jan Daguio (11th): I think it’s a genius idea! When I throw away my salad I have to force it in and it’s not very efficient. We can put up recycling bins around the school so that there aren’t a lot of bottles and trash everywhere.
