Water Polo Tales

The Boys and Girls water polo teams both had very big achievements this year. The Boys team held their biggest victory against the Nipomo team this season and in the CIF playoffs. The PVHS team beat Nipomo two times and each time held a one point victory. The CIF playoffs allowed the team to eliminate Nipomo and advance to semi finals. The leading players on the team included Adrian Eisner, leading scorer, that ranked 18th in the nation and Moises Ruelas, the most athletic player, who held honorable mention all CIF Division 3. Nickolas Limon was the most improved this season as he switched from being goalie to a field player. The hardest worker was Gerardo Morales. he was very dedicated and always defended the opponents best player with great success. The boys team hopes to see even more water polo students next year and would like to push from 3rd in CIF Division 3 to 1st in CIF Division 3. The Girls’ Water Polo team biggest win was against Nipomo in a tournament. The player that stood out the most this season was Heidi Castillo. Her coach describes herĀ as a natural athlete and someone with full steam ahead from the day she stepped into the pool. Two hard workers on the team were Noelia and Nohemi Martinez- Campas. They led the team in practice, games, and always had positive attitudes and consistency. Their dedication to the team and support for the team will be missed. The team highlights their team bonding this year and for next season the Girls team hopes to improve in numbers and reign in more people into water polo and more successes.
